Come meet our playful goats! Hand-feed them, take them for a stroll, and enjoy some cuddles and back scratches. Just watch out—they might sneak in a nibble of your hair while you're at it! Our kid goats are full of energy and always up to something! Whether they're hopping around like little acrobats or giving you their best "puppy eyes" for treats, they guarantee endless giggles.
Come feed, play, and try to keep up with these mischievous little troublemakers.
Favourite Things: Getting up high - they are great climbers and love to get on their slide, picnic table or even on the roof of the wendy houses.
Rescue / Re-homing Fact: A lot of goats are used places for bottle feeding experiences but when they get older are no longer required. Not here at the sanctuary, our goats can rest easy knowing they are here for life.
Come spend time with our lovely sheep, hand-feed them their favourite treats, and enjoy giving them scratches and snuggles. They love attention and are always happy to meet new friends. We have lots of sheep here at the sanctuary, come visit us and see if you can remember all their names.
Favourite Things: Hay Day as we call it. When a new batch of hay comes in, the Sheep go mad for it.
Rescue / Re-homing Fact: There comes a day when most commercial sheep go to slaughter but our sheep have been saved from this fate and live out the rest of their lives at the sanctuary.
We have many groups of chickens at the sanctuary, all of which have fantastic little characters. We allow our chickens to free range when safe to do so and provide enrichment in their pens to keep them busy.
Favourite Things: They love to have treats and laying in the sunshine, taking dust baths and finding a perch up high to keep an eye on the farm goings on.
Rescue / Re-homing Fact: Cockerels tend to make their way to rescue centres as they can be quite loud which upsets neighbours in urban areas and as they don't produce eggs can be seen as unprofitable livestock. Our lucky cockerels have their own group of ladies and will enjoy their lives on the farm knowing they have a home for life.
Keep an eye out for their beautiful fresh eggs which we sell on our open days.
Our rabbits are a firm favourite with our visitors at the sanctuary - they are certainly always up for a snuggle and some veggies. We have several groups of rabbits who all live with friends to keep them company. They are intelligent and playful, they love strokes and interaction with humans.
Favourite Things: Vegetables ..... vegetables and more vegetables. Our buns devour a huge amount of veg and love nothing more than running around their pens with a cheeky carrot or two.
Rescue / Re-homing Fact: Bunnies need more space than some people realise and tend to end up at re-homing centres as people didn't realise the time involved with rabbits or that their children lost interest. We like to spoil our buns at the sanctuary and everyone who meets them cant help but fall in love.
Tiny but full of sass, they’re always chattering away, plotting their next snack heist. These little fluffballs live a fun-filled life exploring their runs and getting cozy in the barn at bedtime. They adore cuddles and treats, and they’re ready to steal your heart—and probably your carrot!
Favourite Things: They love a hiding place, where they can peek out and see what is going on but also retreat to a snug cosy spot when they want. We have lots of tunnels and nooks for our piggies.
Rescue / Re-homing Fact: Often bought as the ideal small pet for children, Guinea Pigs need more attention and care than some people realise - meaning that lots end up at re-homing centres down the line. Our piggies get all the TLC and more!
Meet Uhtred of Bamburgh, our mini donkey with a big personality! Named after the fearless warrior from The Last Kingdom, this Uhtred is a little bit cheeky but overflowing with love (and maybe some mischief). Just like his namesake, he’s always ready for adventure—especially if there are scratches involved!"
Favourite Things: Uhtred loves people, he always wants a scratch and loves to make new friends. He is full of beans and can put a smile on everyone's face. Watch out though - hes cute, but will always try to see whats in your pockets.
Rescue / Re-homing Fact: Donkeys are known for coming to re-homing centres due to abuse, neglect and abandonment. Our beautiful chappy Uhtred came to us from a young age from the New Forest and continues to be surrounded by love.
